Tom Branum

Tom Branum, Jr., is the Director of Missions & Outreach of Heartland Church, and a charter member of the Rotary Club of Fishers, Indiana. He is also a Hoosier (Indiana) native, and has lived in Fishers, Indiana since 1990.

Tom became a Rotarian 33 years ago, and continues a family legacy of being an active leader in his community and around the world through various leadership roles particularly in Rotary & Heartland Church. Tom served as Central Indiana’s Rotary District Governor in 2014-15. He retired early from his 32-year career with AXA Advisors as a Certified Financial Planner and District Manager to accept a fulltime role as Missions & Outreach Director for Heartland Church in 2016.

As a two-time recipient of the Fishers Rotarian of the Year, and the OneZone (Fishers/Carmel) Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year in 2015, Tom has been honored to serve in many non-profit organization leadership roles, including volunteer recruitment, fundraising projects, and serving on the Board.

He was President of the Fishers Rotary Club in 2008-09 when he successfully led the team that imagined, and executed an initiative to fund 100 Wells in Sierra Leone; the project continues and is now serving 189 villages in Sierra Leone, and providing 450,000 people with access to clean water wells. The Fishers Rotary WaterIsLife Project, is a collaborative project with Rotary, Heartland Church, and many other partners and is celebrating its 16th year of success in 2024.

Tom says the driving factors in his life center around personal questions that include, “What will you do with the ‘gifts’ you’ve been given? And, “will you be part of the ‘solution’?” These questions are part of the reason why Tom accepted the offer to join Heartland Church fulltime in 2016. Building the many relationships over the years that it takes to fulfill the regional and global objectives of his work with Heartland and Rotary has been one of the most rewarding parts of his life.
