Move-In Kits

Please join us as our community comes together to provide apartment move-in kits for our neighbors. 

Moving from the streets to a home, individuals often come into their new homes with only the clothes on their backs.  These apartment kits will provide our neighbors who are getting a fresh start with the essentials they need.  This allows them to settle into their new home with comfort and dignity.

A kit is approximately $300.00 to fulfill.  Pick a month, sign up at the link below and then shop with a friend, a group or your faith community to provide these essentials.  If you cannot shop, but want to provide the cost of a kit, please see the link below. 

Once you gather a full kit, you can deliver it within the month you choose at: RDoor Housing Corporation.  441 W. Michigan Street, Indianapolis, IN, 46202.   Please contact Barb Williams at: 317-294-7956 to coordinate delivery of your kit or kits.    

Helpful hints:

Best deals we have found are through Dollar Tree, Walmart and Home Goods. 

Some things on the apartment kit list will be noted if they can be gently used.  Otherwise, we ask for everything be purchased new. 

Keep in mind that most people moving into housing are single and moving into a 1 bedroom or studio apartment.  Storage space will be limited, so please adhere to the recommendations on the shopping list. 

If you do multiple kits in 1 month, have a plan to label them so they stay contained.  It might be helpful to include the checked off list when dropping off the kit. 

We are not providing or accepting furniture currently.  If you are interested in donating furniture, please reach out to Mustard Seed of Central Indiana.  317-572-5724.  They provide furniture needs for Streets to Home.
