For the Western Yearly Meeting, a regional Quaker body serving meetings and churches in Indiana and Illinois, becoming peace makers means developing the skills and dispositions to bring God's Kindom here on Earth. We know that the world God wants for us requires the end of interpersonal and state-based violence, harmony with creation, and a right sharing of resources. The peace we're learning to build is an active peace that includes the presence of justice, not simply the absence of conflict.
Their teen summer camping program is focused on peacemaking and open to all.
