Rent Smart: Know and Use Your Renters' Rights

Summary: Do you have questions about what your landlord is legally allowed to do? Do you think your rights as a tenant are being violated? Do you want to learn about how you can leverage your power as a renter? In this presentation, attendees will learn about their rights as a tenant under Indiana law, where the protections fall short, and how to connect with other tenants to increase access to adequate housing through a unified renter base.

Schedule: This event will be hosted by community partners on four different occasions in 2026. The event will be one hour long. The presentation will take 30 minutes and leave 30 minutes for Q&A. ILS will provide one attorney and one social worker at the event for legal education and information as well as social service support.
